Started watching this yesterday evening after finishing The Crash. I was not ready for this. An insane story.

It was fine. Following the story when it first happened ruined the documentary. There wasn’t anything jaw dropping or even new that was presented. Unless we’re talking about the amount of weed the kids were smoking. Who knew Strongsville, OH was a drug capital???
SpaceX wants to launch A MILLION new satellites into space. I can’t even imagine what that would look like. And of course if SpaceX does it, Amazon will have to follow, and the next guy, and the next guy….
Meanwhile the DOJ is asking the courts to drop a case of xAI violating the Clean Air Act. Of course its under the guise of national security. If the data centers must be able to pollute and destroy the planet because AI is so important to national security and the satellites are used for the data center, there’s no end to this. Every factually valid and measurable concern can be ignored and the death march continue.
But wait! SpaceX will offer flights to Mars! Oh wait…there’s millions of satellites circling the planet so we can’t get ships out. But hey….next quarter’s earnings and that stock price is looking _really _nice!

“He’s endlessly mythologized by a shitty corporate press, eager to ignore his virulent racism & financial fraud bc he’s accumulated obscene amounts of money.”

Not sure when this happened, but I just noticed. The Spotify is back to normal. No more hideous disco ball!
That brutal, unserious cage fight underlined who Trump really is — and what he’s doing to America
Walking through the pit at work this morning I asked how everyone was doing. I had the following brief exchange with a 20-something on my team:
Me: How’s it going this morning? 20-Something: Tired. Me: Why’s that? 20-Something: I’m assuming you weren’t up all night watching the fights? Me: Ha. Definitely not. (continuing my walk to the restroom)
I don’t know what to say. “UFC Freedom 250” was a narcissistic display of self-grandeur wrapped in an American flag with ribbon of faux patriotism and a neat little MAGA cap for the bow. I had no intention of watching as I hate UFC and Trump and everything they both stand for so I was clearly not the intended audience–some might even call me a liberal snowflake with TDS. Holly Baxter writing for The Independent:
The White House has steadily maintained that this was all about patriotism and not about some guy turning 80, but really, what does it matter? Tens of thousands of people — members of the Trump family, Donald’s political allies and donors, MAGA fans — turned up to watch blood get sprayed across the floor of a cage in America’s honor and pretend it was appropriate.
The pretend of the grift ended long ago, but the way they keep trying to make it about the 250th Independence Day is genuinely impressive albeit exhausting. I’m not saying anything groundbreaking by saying governing is a game for Trump. A way for him to be the star. Another outlet for him to enrich himself and friends from the most powerful pulpit of The Church of Capitalism. It’s not about civil service, or sacrifice and this wasn’t a celebration of America. It was a celebration of, to quote a former terrible president (who looking back seems quaint), “Mission Accomplished”.
They won. Our rights are being systematically stripped away, wealth is being filtered upwards to the billionaire class, life is getting harder to just live, and they are all reveling in it. The bad guys won and they are flaunting it in the most disgusting way. I mean the winner had this to say after his bout:
“Michelle Obama is a man, am I right America?”
Sigh.

Not sure how I feel about this one. Its probably how I was listening, but I never really got a grip of the timeline and where we were and there were some areas that were a rough listen. With that said, it’s a very direct look at a violent relationship and the impacts. The last quarter of the book got me.

Stick around for the most insane ending ever.
I somehow got bit by a mosquito, on the back of the hand, while sitting on the couch watching a movie. Why Lord must you forsaken me?
Watched: They Will Kill You 🍿
I didn’t know what to expect what it wasn’t that. The fake blood budget must have been enormous.
