Story time. Got a text from my neighbor saying Xfinity was at my house to install a “filter block”. Don’t know what that is and didn’t have anything scheduled. Come home from work to no service. Spend 2 hours chatting with tech support. It doesn’t work — shocker. They try to schedule a tech but I need to be here. Didn’t seem to be a problem today when the broke my service, but now they can’t do anything if I’m not home. Gotta love the customer service.
I’m only available Thursday — my birthday — so make an appointment for first thing in the morning. I ask to talk to account retention because I’m beyond annoyed. I talk to TJ who doesn’t seem like he’s been on the job long. He tells me at least 6 times that he “gots me because I’m on the loyalty team” — fantastic corporate self talk there. TJ proceeds to spend 15 minutes trying to upsell me on buying Xfinity mobile.
I can’t put into words how much I fucking hate Xfinity.
I then go into a get off my lawn type rant about how accountability and customer service no longer exists and my wonderful girlfriend listens to it all.
We make chili, jalapeño cheddar corn bread, and are watching an old dvd of Men In Black and I feel like I’m a kid again. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug and I’m chasing that high tonight.
